CHRISTIAN PARENTS GET TOGETHER TO GIVE KIDS THEIR OWN BIBLE-BASED VIRTUAL WORLD

Kids Bible Adventures much talked about crowd funding campaign to create the first ever 3D interactive Bible based Virtual World for kids aged 5 – 10 is launching on 15 February (US time) on global crowd funding platform, Indiegogo.

Crowd funding is now one of the most popular ways for new projects to get funded by people that support a common cause. It is not a donation because everyone that contributes get something back. It is like an advance purchase of a product, while at the same time also contributing towards the common cause.

Stay tuned for how Christian parents can help create a better world for our kids.

The countdown to launch has started and the link to the crowd funding site will be made public in less than 24 hours.

You can be the salt and light for your kids

It’s amazing how social media is now so much part of our lives.

Today we joined a wonderful Twitter chat session #GodsLoveChats to share stories about how faith has helped shape people’s lives. OK, so telling a story in 140 characters is tricky, but hey it works and anyone can pitch in if they want. And it’s fun too! It’s a must do on our weekly schedule now. Try it.

We also are enjoying the blogs of Moms and Dads who write about their challenges, successes and hopes for the future. No matter what part of the world we live in everyone is saying the same thing. Moms and Dads want the best for their kids, they worry about being a good parent, they wonder where the world is heading.

The message that comes through most loudly though is the frustration from Christian parents that faith is being pushed into a corner, that youth seems to have lost its moral compass, and as parents they are losing the battle against a flood of bad, violent messages in the media and in games directed at their kids.

We agree – all of this is happening. That is why Kids Bible Adventures is coming. Because it deals with all these issues. It is the first real Virtual World that lets kids explore the Bible like they are really there, go on missions to gain spiritual value levels, and share that with parents on their Facebook or phones.

We have been asked many times by parents “How can we get it?” The answer is – first it has to be made. And that’s where everyone comes in.

Social media is not just about people talking and sharing. It’s also about getting things done. There’s a way to do that called Crowd Funding.

Crowd Funding challenges people with a common vision to contribute a small amount to make a great change. It is now one of the most popular ways to bring new projects to life whether that is a new book, or movie, or even a recent one to rebuild community facilities after Hurricane Sandy. Everyone who pledges gets a personal reward and is recognized as contributing to the success of the mission.

The Kids Bible Adventures mission is to gain enough pledges to create a Bible based Virtual World your kids can play online, have as much fun as any other online game, and discover the wonder of the Bible for themselves. Best of all, you, the parents will get to be part of it. This has never been done before, not like this.

But we need you to Help Make it Happen. How?

When the crowd funding for Kids Bible Adventures launches on 5 February, don’t wait, help out, be part of it, make it happen. Contribute. You can start just with $5, and that gets you rewards for you and your kids.

Keep an eye on our website (www.kidsbibleadventures.com) and Twitter (@KidsBibleAdvent) and be part of this Christian parents crusade.

Blessings to you, and especially to your kids!

CHRISTIAN KIDS GET THEIR OWN BIBLE-BASED VIRTUAL WORLD

A recent survey of Christian families revealed that parents concerned about keeping their kids safe online want more God-first, Bible-based destinations for their digital kids.

little-noah croppedKids Bible Adventures is the first virtual world for Christian kids and their families that lets kids explore and experience the world of the Bible and its heroes using tablets and cell phones in a way that simply wasn’t possible before digital and mobile technology. The virtual world includes Bible-based adventure games, rich 3D animation, plus photo and video sharing with friends and family through a Christian-centered social network.

“There are over 700 online virtual worlds which attract more than 500 million kids under the age of 13 and yet not a single one is dedicated to the Bible and its Christian teachings”, says Ian Jones, the founder of Kids Bible Adventures. “As a Christian parent I want my kids to be safe online, to form Christian friendships, to explore the Bible, and to come away with positive values and I’m not alone.” Jones, who is the former executive producer of the award winning TV series, FARMkids, has put together a powerhouse team to build Kids Bible Adventures. “When I conducted a survey of Christian parents I found over 98 percent were just as concerned as I was that instead of Christ’s message of love our children were all too often exposed to violence and values that just weren’t Christian online so I decided to do something about it.”

This is a very special virtual world. Kids Bible Adventures lets kids, between the ages of 5 and 10, actually experience the Bible in a way never before possible. “They will be able to help Noah load the animals into the Ark; stand beside David as he loads that single smooth stone into his slingshot and slays Goliath; sit at the feet of Jesus, munching on loaves and fishes; blow their trumpets as they march around the walls of Jericho; follow the star with the three kings to Jesus’ manger; or help the Good Samaritan,” explains Jones. “And each Bible adventure can be shared with parents, teachers, pastors, and friends through mobile apps.  By ‘living’ the Bible, kids will learn and love God’s teachings, emulate the values, and become better, stronger, more informed Christians,” he adds.

Developed by International Entertainment Development Corporation (IEDC) a faith and values-based children’s entertainment and education company with offices in the U.S. and Australia, Kids Bible Adventures brings the Bible to life for today’s digital kids. Not only does this Christian project include a 3D immersive virtual world complete with avatars, quests, tasks and virtual goods, but it also integrates three of the fastest growing virtual trends on the Internet today – social media, online games, and mobile apps.

It’s Time to Make it Happen

Recently I was asked by a Christian leader, what success means to us in 2013.

To us, success will be to deliver Kids Bible Adventures in time for Christmas 2013 so kids and families can enjoy on Christmas Day the first true 3D online Bible Virtual World adventure playground for kids to explore the Bible and learn spiritual values.

Just imagine the joy on the faces of your kids when they go on adventures with their favorite Bible Heroes, just like they are there with them, and share and play with friends. They can even takes photos of themselves and send them to you!

It’s staggering to think that over 500 million kids under the age of 13 – including our Christian kids – visit Virtual Worlds, where they play online games and hang out with their friends.  But these Virtual Worlds just seem to be about pets, fairies, monsters, icebergs, pirates and evil armies.

Yet while 75% of parents say they want online games to do something positive for their kids there isn’t a single Christian Virtual World  that offers kids Bible-based adventures, values-driven entertainment and Christian friendships.

Instead of video games that teach nothing, or are violent or bad for kids there will be something parents can trust and feel safe about online. We have been blessed with the skills to make entertainment that resonates with young audiences, and we want to apply that to make a difference for Christian families and kids on the internet. God willing this will be the year it happens.

Now we are calling upon Christian families to get behind this and help make it happen.

I am hoping as we build a groundswell of Christian voices for change that everyone can help build this better future. 2013 has to be the year.

Come on everyone – let’s make it happen.

The Story of Kid’s Bible Adventures

Over the past 6 years we have been involved in creating wholesome family and kids TV that is fun and teaches youngsters about values in a way that they enjoy and understand.

A few months ago we started to wonder why online video games that have no purpose are played by millions, yet wholesome Christian based internet games for kids are almost non-existent.

That just didn’t seem right. Christian kids and families deserve better.

So, we decided to do something about that and create the most awesome, great fun, play anywhere Christian Virtual World full of adventures, fun and games based on Christian values and linked to stories and characters in the Bible.

If you’re not that familiar with Virtual Worlds and online video games don’t worry it’s simple.

These days kids are getting a lot more entertainment on phones and iPads so they way they learn is changing.

The biggest change is that entertainment is interactive.  Instead of just watching TV, it’s like you are playing a game in the TV show.

These are called Virtual Worlds and kids love them.

Virtual Worlds are also one of the best new ways to teach kids because they teach themselves by playing.

As parents you would have noticed that kids will sit for hours playing on a phone or computer, but won’t sit still for 5 minutes in Church or a classroom.

So instead of forcing kids to learn the old fashioned way, it made sense to us to use the new interactive Virtual Worlds to teach kids in the way they learn best, and the way they want to learn.

That’s why we came up with the idea of Kids Bible Adventures.

We noticed that kids were being taught Bible stories, and they were going to Vacation Bible School, but the message didn’t seem to be sinking in as it should.

We wanted to give kids the experience of what it was like to be in the Bible with their Bible heroes.

And then we wanted them to take that knowledge, and see how to use it in their young lives in today’s 21st century world.

Kids Bible Adventures is really 2 Virtual Worlds in one:

A Virtual World based in Biblical Days where kids learn about Christianity as it is told in the Bible.

And a Virtual World set it today’s times, where they take their spiritual learning and understand how to be a Christian in the modern world.

And there’s an even better feature we want to build in.

Young kids love to share what they do with their parents.

Kids Bible Adventures will have a feature where you as Moms and Dads and other family members can see what your child has achieved through Apps and notifications to your phone or Facebook page.

We want this to be a family adventure but in the way that today’s mobile, social and digitally connected family lives.

Here’s how Kids Bible Adventures will work:

Firstly, it teaches Christianity in a Virtual World based in the Biblical days. It is based on spiritual values that are a fundamental part of the characters and stories in the Scripture.

Kids explore and learn the whole Bible, not just a few familiar stories.

They get to understand how the stories and the values fit together across the Bible so they see the great story of God and Man as it is told.

Secondly, it teaches how to be a Christian in today’s world. It builds spiritual strength for the kids and their families to be Christians in the 21st century.

Our Church, our country, and our society is built on Values.

If we have the right values, the values that we are taught in the Bible by our Bible Heroes, and we know how to live by those values today, and every day, then we have created a great world to live in.

The best part of Kids Bible Adventures is that it is fun.  Fun for kids and fun for the family.

We want to bring families back together again, on the internet and through learning the Bible. That’s our vision.  There have been some horrible things happening in America and the world lately.

So much of what is on TV or movies or is in video games is not good for our kids.

The Bible tells us what is good.

Let’s teach our kids what is right in the way that they learn best. We are not going to change everything overnight, but we can start by teaching what is right to the most precious gift we have – our children.

They are the future, and if we create great kids, we create a great future.

We are not going to change everything overnight, but we can start by teaching what is right to the most precious gift we have – our children.

They are the future, and if we create great kids, we create a great future.

So while politicians and others argue about gun control and censorship just like they have been for the last decade and the decade before that, how about we, the parents, the Christian parents, do something and make a change.

That’s Kids Bible Adventures.

In the next Blog we will tell you more about what we are doing to turn our ideas into reality. And what you can do to help.
